This bench is a collaboration between Panta Rhei Collective (PRC) and Miles Dean, which is about harnessing the hidden potential of extracted concrete - a material whose lifetime is currently considered limited post its first use.
The installation suggests new futures within the circular economy for this material, as well as championing its structural, functional and sculptural qualities beyond its first life.
It was built by Miles and Eugenio from waste concrete cores produced by structural testing on a building in central London and street pavers from a nearby roadworks project in the Royal Docks.
